Mike Farwell
For more than two decades, Mike Farwell has been one of the most recognizable voices in Waterloo Region — a broadcaster, storyteller, and community advocate who believes local media is worth fighting for.
Mike hosted The Mike Farwell Show on 570 News in Kitchener for years, where his morning conversations with listeners, local leaders, and newsmakers became a daily fixture across the region. He was also the play-by-play voice of the Kitchener Rangers — a role that carried him from the press box at the Aud to countless road trips and championship runs across the OHL.
Alongside broadcasting, Mike has been a columnist for the Kitchener Post, and, most notably, the driving force behind Farwell4Hire — an annual community fundraiser that has raised more than $1 million for Cystic Fibrosis Canada.
In 2026, 570 News went dark and Mike was let go along with the station. This site is the next chapter: an independent, community-owned home for the show, its listeners, and the causes it supports. Same voice. Same mission. New home.
